The Activity Fund is a budget for monthly, company-sponsored social activities in each DMC office. The Lego event was such a hit last time that I knew we had to do it again, and I decided that it was the perfect indoor activity to enjoy together during the colder weather.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"chicago lego build\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.dmcinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/27165233\/lego-build-2025-2.jpg\"  \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Beating the Cold<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<p>I didn&rsquo;t anticipate how cold it would be on the day of the event. I considered rescheduling when the temperature outside was a brisk -7&deg;C! However, everyone in the office was committed to building&nbsp;together in the office despite the cold weather. &nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"chicago lego build\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.dmcinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/27165233\/lego-build-2025-7.jpg\"  \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"chicago lego build\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.dmcinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/27165232\/lego-build-2025-4.jpg\"  \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Full House<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<p>We hosted the event in the DMC Chicago office&rsquo;s largest space, and the turnout was overwhelming&mdash;more than 80 people showed up! With such a large crowd, we were at capacity, and some teams had to spread out to other rooms to create a little more space. Attendees got cozy, huddling around whatever counter space they could find. Despite the crowded atmosphere, the room was full of excitement as people dove into the activity.&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"chicago lego build\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.dmcinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/27165231\/lego-build-2025-3.jpg\"  \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"chicago lego build\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.dmcinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/27165231\/lego-build-2025-8.jpg\"  \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Blockbuster Event<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<p>The event kicked off with a group picture in front of our massive pile of colorful Lego boxes. Afterward, everyone rummaged through the pile of boxes to find their kit. It was fun to see so many people building together and to watch the Lego kits come together in real time. The space and plant-themed Lego sets were popular, but I chose a car from the <em>Fast and the Furious<\/em>. &nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"chicago lego build\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.dmcinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/27165230\/lego-build-2025-5.jpg\"  \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cross-Office Connections<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<p>Another highlight of the event was spending time with colleagues from other offices who were visiting Chicago for the Electrical Engineering Team Summit. It was fun to get to know them better by building Legos together and for them to be welcomed by the Chicago team.
