He is the head of DMC\u2019s Embedded Systems group and is a member of the senior leadership team. Tim loves to help the team design advanced solutions, create system architecture, and solve challenging problems. Sometimes, when he thinks that no one\u2019s looking, he likes to sneak away and unwind by routing a PCB using Altium Designer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When he\u2019s not designing expert solutions, Tim enjoys having fun with his four kids, playing various sports (including hockey, rollerblading, skiing, running, and biking), and <s>working on his vintage BMW station wagon<\/s>&nbsp;[RIP&nbsp;1999-2019]. He also loves to brew kombucha, make yogurt, and make interesting foods using his homemade sous vide cooker (basically, the weirder the better). &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joined DMC:<\/strong>&nbsp;1999<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DMC Office:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"\/contact\/chicago\">Chicago<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Service Area: <\/strong><a href=\"\/services\/embedded-development-and-embedded-programming\">Embedded<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Favorite DMC Projects:&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"\/latest-thinking\/case-studies\/view\/id\/136\/explosion-proof-equipment-testing-with-labview\">UL Hazloc<\/a> is one of my all-time favorites because we got to blow stuff up.&nbsp; I also liked working on this <a href=\"\/latest-thinking\/case-studies\/view\/id\/425\/medical-device-with-extended-battery-life\">medical product that produced electrical stimulus<\/a> for muscles. The R&amp;D &amp; testing phases were fun. We all took turns seeing who could handle the highest power setting the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Favorite DMC Event:&nbsp;<\/strong>I am a huge fan of <a href=\"\/latest-thinking\/blog\/id\/9839\/hitting-the-slopes-at-dmski-2019\">DMSk<\/a>i. I&#8217;ve been on almost every one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Favorite DMC Moment:&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"\/latest-thinking\/blog\/id\/9641\/a-balloons-journey-testing-distance-capabilities-of-a-lora-gateway-and-tranceiver\">Launching a cheap party balloon<\/a> from our deck with a makeshift transmitter on it and tracking for it over 100 miles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Best Place Traveled for Work:<\/strong>&nbsp;I was in an anechoic chamber the size of an airplane hanger. It was super weird. Like being in a big stadium, but if you closed your eyes and spoke, it sounded like you were in a tiny coat closet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a
